2023 Summer Reading Program
We wrapped up the 2023 Summer Reading Program with our annual Water Games Party at the city park on Wednesday, July 26th from 1:00 to 3:00P.M. Fifty-six of the 108 registered Summer Readers enjoyed playing on the giant water slide, slip n’ slide, kiddie pools and bounce house. We also played with the water rockets, Wet Head game, and had a water blaster scrimmage. The kids also enjoyed some yummy snow cones, cookies and fruit punch.
The library would like to thank all of the wonderful Community Helpers and Volunteers who came to present at the Summer Reading Program this year! Thanks so much to the following awesome folks who visited the library:
Smokey The Bear along with Jessica Kearney-Reeves & the Idaho Forest Service folks
Amber Young and the gang from Idaho Fish & Game
Adams County Sheriff’s Officer Nikki Sauerland
City of New Meadows Mayor Julie Good & Hunter Brown from New Meadows Public Works Department
First Responders Johnny Brown & Leandra Smith from Meadows Valley Fire Department and E.M.T. Services
We also want to say Congratulations to our kids Grand Prize Drawing Winner – Mary Reynaga!
The Meadows Valley Public Library Summer Reading Program helps kids avoid the Summer Slide that can occur when kids are out of school and improves their reading skills so they are better prepared when the new school year begins.
This program is costly to present with all of the books, program materials, prizes, advertising, party supplies and more. Unfortunately, we did not receive as many donations for the program this year as we have in prior years. If you are interested in supporting the program, there is still time to help us out! Donations can be made in the following ways and your contribution may be tax deductible! You can drop your donation (cash or check) at the library, mail a donation to PO Box 436, New Meadows, ID 83654 or visit the library’s website: meadowsvalley.lili.org and make a donation via the DONATE (PayPal) button on the lower right side of the home page. Thanks to all those who did make a donation and our AWESOME summer reading Sponsors this year!
